| Description |
English: The Edge of Flint Marsh This is the margin between the dumped ash wasteland on the left and the River Dee estuary on the right. The logs washed up against the scrub suggest this is not the place to be at high tide. The large quantity of limestone is probably from the time of the project to canalise the River Dee in 1737, and possibly came from quarries in the Halkyn mountain area. Although it is water soluble, the stone seems to have been effective when protected by earth banks as it normally is. |
