Summary
[edit]DescriptionThe Drive through Wendover Woods - geograph.org.uk - 1476920.jpg |
English: The Drive through Wendover Woods. An old forest track was, in the late 20th century, upgraded to a one-way road for visitors to this Forestry Commission managed woodland. This shows the road just below the viewpoint. 1476905.
While the road is one way for cars it is used by children, walkers and sometimes their dogs running free, cyclists, horse riders and wild animals which may include deer, foxes, badgers and smaller creatures. In addition any car running off the road could end up rolling between the trees down the steeply sloping Chiltern escarpment. For this reason the speed limit is 15 mph. |
