Secretaryof Agriculture Nunez of Cuba, secretary ofthe Maine cominission, declares that a monu-ment to cost $33,000 will be erected as Mainememorial, the shaft to be completed bySept. 1, 1916. President Menocal has re-quested a credit of $33,000 for the monu-ment. MEMORIAL TO SIR WILLIAM VAN HORNE Arrangements have already been made toraise a fund to be used for the erection of astatue to the memory of Sir William VanHome, the memorial to be erected at eitherHavana or Camaguey.
