English: A memorial window in St Andrew's Church, Preston, Dorset. A notice beside the window reads:
"The Constance Window CONSTANCE GRACE PINWILL CONWAY 20 October 1907 - 26 September 1921 AGED 13 This memorial from Weymouth College Chapel was partly designed by her elder sister, CATHERINE EUBANK, who lies in Preston Churchyard. The music [the figure in the window holds] is from the E Minor Prelude of Mendelssohn which she was to have played at a school function. The background is Bowleaze Cove. The Radiant Figure on the further shore recalls ST JOHN XXI. The little ship is the college crest. Flowers, birds and animals speak of her intense love of nature. She died within four weeks of her 14th birthday, after months of suffering borne with a courage, patience & consideration for others beyond her years." |
