Description
English: This image is of the United States Capitol building or also known as Capitol Hill. The building is the seat of the United States Congress. This building was built by Benjamin Henry Latrobe, William Thornton, and many more architects. The Congress was first opened in the 1800's. The dome on the monument was created by Edward Clark in 1868. In the 20th Century, the Capitol was expanded under the name of J. George Stewart. Between the years of 1959 to 1960 the extension added about 102 more rooms. Today the monument covers about 175,170 square feet and with a floor area of 16.5 acres. This monument is a must see! Just wait until you go inside too. Trust me you wont regret going there. Now that you know some background about this place you should definitely visit there. If you do go I hope you have an awesome time there like I did.
