English: The British Library, London. The British Library (BL) is the UK's national library and one of the world's largest research libraries, holding over 150 million items in all known languages and formats; books, journals, newspapers, magazines, sound and music recordings, patents, databases, maps, stamps, prints, drawings and much more. The BL's collections include around 25 million books, along with substantial additional collection of manuscripts and historical items dating back as far as 300 BC. See also . . . .
