English: NAVAL SUPPORT ACTIVITY SOUDA BAY, Greece (Jan. 24, 2023) Boatswain’s Mate 2nd Class Sean Sweetay and Boatswain’s Mate Seaman Apprentice Deryk Hernandez, assigned to Naval Support Activity (NSA) Souda Bay, Greece, pull in the San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock ship USS Mesa Verde (LPD 19) as the ship arrives in Souda Bay, Crete, Greece, for a regularly scheduled port visit, Jan. 24, 2024. The Bataan Amphibious Ready Group (ARG) is comprised of Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Bataan (LHD 5), Harpers Ferry-class dock landing ship USS Carter Hall (LSD 50), USS Mesa Verde, and the embarked 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit (Special Operations Capable). While in port, NSA Souda Bay provided Bataan ARG with harbor security, refueling and other port operations services. NSA Souda Bay is an operational ashore installation which enables and supports U.S., Allied, Coalition, and Partner nation forces to preserve security and stability in the European, African, and Central Command areas of responsibility.
