This result is very-constant, and may be obtained not onlyby injecting serum at the same point asthe virulent blood, but also by introduc-ing it at points very remote from theplace of inoculation. The rabbits re-ceiving under the skin a quantity ofmost virulent blood sufficient to kill wit-ness rabbits, and likewise the serum ofvaccinated rabbits, manifest only a localsuppuration, and surely recover.
