It is often difhcuh to keep youngchildren from rubbing or scratching the af-fected area even when protected by band-ages, and thus producing a troublesomeulceration, with necessarily more scarringthan would naturally be expected, as a resultof the infection which often occurs from thebreaking of the skin. An unfortunate coincidence occurredwhile treating a young girl five years ofage who had a pigmented angioma i Yzcentimeters wide and 3 centimeters long,with a very vascular base, situated on theside of the nose. She contracted measlesfrom the other children in the family whenthe radium reaction was at its height. Thewhole face became swollen to an alarmingdegree; the area became gangrenous, and thegeneral systemic reaction was severe. Whenthe child recovered an annoying ulcer wasleft which healed, but did not entirely re-move the angioma. The result was notpleasing but further treatment was declined. Three cases have come to no
