ed to dry in a perfectly dark, cool dryingbox, or in the ventilated dark cupboard of the darkroom. A drying box may be easily constructed. It should havedouble top and bottom with air spaces and perforationsarranged to allow circulation of air without admitting light. It is well to thoroughly line such a box with black paper. When the rack of plates is set in the box in the darkroom andthe cover bolted in place, it may be brought out and placednear a window, or wherever is best for the air to circulatethrough the box. If the plates are sensitized in the evening they will be readyfor use the following morning. They may be carefully storedin plate boxes if not desired for immediate use, and will keepseveral months. In using the pinachrome bathed plates best results areobtained by stopping the ultra-violet rays with a ray filter. Theexposure should be prolonged sufficiently to compensate. Development should be conducted by the illuminationthrough the Virida papers, using preferably Amidol.
