English: The "ATHINA B" Brighton Beach. This 3,500ton Greek registered ship was blown ashore in gale force winds after complete failure of her generator and steering gear, whilst sailing from France to Shoreham on January 21st 1980. All aboard were saved by the Shoreham Lifeboat. The ship, having broken her back was later towed away and scrapped. |
