[edit]DescriptionTerry Fox; portrait painting.jpg |
English: Portrait painting of Terry Fox (1958-1981)
In 1980, Terry’s journey to raise money for cancer research began and he called it the Marathon of Hope. His perseverance deeply affected millions of people. He was forced to end his run after 143 days and 5,373 kilometres. Terry Fox held a tearful press conference during which he announced that his cancer had returned and spread to his lungs. Although he passed away in 1981 when he was 22 years of age, his legend lives as a Canadian hero. Portrait painting of Terry Fox; made using a black and white photograph as a reference.
