Summary
[edit]DescriptionTerracotta chimneys 20190424 114340.jpg |
English: New York Architectural Terra Cotta Works Building built in 1892 as the first structure solely for offices of the company, due to the burgeoning need for Architectural terra-cotta as a building material, was designed by Francis H. Kimball, the architect of the Montauk Club and the Gertrude Rhinelander Waldo Mansion built at 72d St and Madison Ave in NYC in space now occupied by the Ralph Lauren store. It was once described in a Times article as "a burnt brown riot of pressed and shaped brick, chimneys with spiral designs, stepped gables and round-bottomed roof tiles." |
