Tacoma Narrows Bridge |
Description |
500px provided description: The Tacoma Narrows Bridge is a pair of suspension bridges that cross the Tacoma Narrows, a small strait in the Puget Sound west of Tacoma, Washington. The site is known for the infamous "Galloping Gertie", which failed in a windstorm just months after opening in 1940. A replacement was built in 1950 and a second, tolled span was built in 2007 as traffic increased. [#suspension bridge ,#Narrows Bridge ,#Tacoma Narrows Bridge ,#twin bridges ,#State Route 16] |
