Description

Tyne & Wear Metro train calls at Ilford Road station as filmed when I visited Tyneside for the 1990 National Garden Festival in Gateshead.

This train is in a special fully lined promotional livery marking the 150th anniversary of the Newcastle-Upon-Tyne and North Shields Railway - Metrocar No. 4044 was painted yellow and named 'Director' whilst Metrocar 4051 was painted claret (albeit with yellow lower cab at each end) and named 'Times'.

Apologies for the scrappy image quality - this is a still image taken from S-VHS video.
