English: Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) image of mitochondria of a MEF cell in which the gene OMA1 has been knocked out. The cell had been treated with the mycotoxin phomoxanthone A (PXA) for 30 min. The mitochondrial ultrastructure has been severely distorted, and cristae can no longer be recognised. Scale bar equivalent to 0.5 µm. |
