The "Andy Monument" at 17th Street and Broadway - Union Square (West) in New York City, NY USA

Summary

[edit]
Description
English: The "Andy Monument" at 17th Street and Broadway - NYC's Union Square (West). The almost ten-foot-tall chrome sculpture was created by Rob Pruitt and resides outside the building that housed Warhol's Factory for more than a decade in the 1970s and early 1980s. It was installed on March 30, 2012. Andy Warhol is depicted with his familiar Polaroid camera and a shopping bag - that would have been filled with copies of Interview magazine. Warhol used to stand in the street, signing autographs and giving away copies of his magazine. This shot, taken on May Day, shows Andy sporting a red May Day/General Strike sticker.
