Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Fenced tennis court in the garden of Jewish boarding school for girls Töchter-Erziehungsheim und Haushaltungsschule Wieler in Constance at Lake Constance, Grand Duchy of Baden, German Reich. The picture shows the second main building, a villa of the private secondary school inaugurated on May 1, 1916. The lower adjacent building on its left was called "Glasveranda", in fact a covered transition to the older main building named "Villa Seegarten" (not depicted here) which was erected in 1910/11 and inaugurated in 1912. While the villa and the housed transition on the picture today (8 Hebelstrasse) is under monument protection, the older building called "Villa Seegarten" (6 Hebelstrasse) was demolished and replaced by new buildings in 1992. The tennis court doesn't exist anymore.
