Description
English: Tóth András nagyszalontai egész alakos, bronzból készült Kossuth-szobrát 1901. június 30-án avatták fel. Ez volt a 22. felállított Kossuth-szobor a világon.

Később többször is eltávolították. 1920. augusztus 8-ra virradóra ismeretlen tettesek ledöntötték és két darabra törték. A térparancsnok megígérte a pártatlan kivizsgálást, ám ez nem vezetett eredményre. A sérült emlékművet még aznap délben a Csonka torony földszintjén egy sötét sarokba állították. Ott töltött két évtizedet. 1940 októberében Oláh György lakatosműhelyében kijavították és eredeti helyére visszaállították. Később még egyszer lekerült a talapzatáról, 1944-től azonban folyamatosan a mai helyén áll. Ennek a szobornak van egy másolata Amerikában, Clevelandben, amit egy-két évvel később avattak, mint a szalontait.
