Description
Deutsch: Die Synagoge im alten Allgemeinen Krankenhaus Wien befindet sich im Hof 6 des alten AKH (heute Campus der Universität Wien). Der "Betpavillon" für die Kranken jüdischen Glaubens im Wiener Allgemeinen Krankenhaus wurde mit Spendengeldern der Israelitischen Kultusgemeinde Wien nach den Plänen von Max Fleischer 1903 errichtet. 1938 Schändung durch die Nationalsozialisten. 1953 Umbau in einen Transformatorraum, dabei werden die Dachkonstruktion, der Eingangs- und der Torahschreinvorbau zerstört. 1999-2005 Diskurs und Neugestaltung als Denk-Mal Marpe Lanefesch / Heilung für die Seele.
English: Former synagogue of the former AKH (general hospital) in Vienna. Built by architect Max Fleischer in 1903. In 1938 devastated by the National Sozialists. 1953 adopted for a power transformer. 1999-2005 after intensive discussions adopted as monument Denk-Mal Marpe Lanefesch / Heilung für die Seele.
