WM 6209: Sydenham Medical Club [1796-1928] Treasurer's books, 1817-1835. Lists of members of the club, etc.. f. 29 recto; Medical Club, Thatched House, May 14th, 1825 - Presentation o Arthur Tegart for 25 yrs' service as treasurer recorded.

At the meeting of the Club this day it appeared that Mr Tegart had filled the office of Treasurer for Twenty Five Years, during which period he had been absent from his duty but three times. Viz, on the 9th of February 1807, from indisposition, on the 14th of September in the same year then in Scotland, and on the 12th of September 1814 at that time in Ireland. In consideration of his Services, the Club presented Mr Tegart with two peices of Plate Viz, on the 26th of July 1810 and on this day, 14th of May 1825, each with a suitable Inscription, for which see the other side. When the Treasurer came into office in 1796, Dinner was provided for the Members, at 4/3 a head, at present the charge is 6/4. Port Wine was then 3/6 a Bottle now 6/ - Champaigne then 12//6, not 17/. Burgundy then 10/ now 17/. Claret then 7/- now 13/. Sherry 4/6 now 7 Shillings a Bottle. It appeared that the Wine consumed in the Club during the last 25 years was 313 Dozen or 3756 Bottles. And that the amount of Wagers ? & Wine given by Members was 310:16:6
