| Description |
English: Swithland Reservoir Looking SE from the dam. The bank in the view is all in SK5614. Swithland Reservoir is the most reliable place in the county to see Peregrines in the winter and the best time is a calm evening such as in this picture. In fact there were about six serious bird watchers on the dam with all the serious birdwatching gear while I was there. See http://www.lros.org.uk/swithland.htm for more bird watching information. The reservoir was built in 1896 and the pump house is a fine example of Victorian Industrial architecture. |
