Summary

[edit]
Description
English: This Brahehus Castle was built in the mid 17th century by the Lord High Chancelor Per Brahe the Younger, originally intended as a country retreat. In 1645, it became a dower house for Pere Brahe and his wife Kristina (Katarina Stenbock). A few years later she died and the castle was converted to guest accomodations. It fell into disrepair and decay after being ravaged by a fire in 1708. Taken from the bus on highway E4.
