Description
English: U.S. Army Soldiers assigned to the 3rd Division Sustainment Brigade’s Task Force Provider receive the Army Commendation Medal for their participation in the Long March, on Karliki, Poland, on March 5, 2024. More than 30 Soldiers assigned to the 3rd ID and U.S. Army Garrison Poland participated in Exercise Long March from Zagan, Poland, to Spremberg, Germany. The Soldiers, the first American military members to participate since the original march in January 1945, walked 60 miles over three days along the original route of the Stalag Luft III evacuation to recreate the forced march of allied prisoners as the German military fled Russian advancement during the final winter of World War II.
