[edit]

English: Steel box or can for typewriter ribbon supplied by Sussex Typewriters Ltd, then based in Worthing. The ribbon and the can may have been made for Sussex Typewriters by anotehr company. The 4-digit phone number dates it to the middle of the 20th century. By the early 1970s the Worthing exchange had 5-digit numbers and a few years later they were all increased to 6 figures.
