The Imperial troops werea whole year getting into the city, and then it wasonly by the treachery of one of the Moslem officerswho opened the gates. The Imperial General Yangdemanded that the Mohammedan king should givehimself up. This he did, but took a dose of gold insolution before appearing before the conqueringgeneral. He then pleaded that his people might besaved, took a drink of water, and died in his chair.His head was cut off and his poor defenceless men,women, and children were massacred.
