English: This view, of Alcatraz Island, of the horizon to the tip of Tiburon, and on the far right, a slice of Angel Island, is from the stern of the boat--specifically, the Flyer, of Alcatraz Cruises--as it is docked at the Island, waiting for next 300 guests to depart. I was lucky enough to be one of the guys selling beer, pretzels, coffee and hot dogs at the back of the boat, and I took a thousand pics with my little iPhone 8. This sunset blew them all away. For the next month, I told anyone who would listen, "Hey, I think I saw Gabriel blow his horn a few nights ago, out by Alcatraz, in the San Francisco Bay." Yeah, it was that beautiful. And that terrifying.

Other reasons to love this pic: The smokestack on the Industry Building The warden's quarters, the guard tower, that tree, the bird The "mountain range" line of the horizon which has been identified by Native Americans--hundreds of years ago--as "The Pregnant Maiden Lying on her Back, Holding a Bouquet of Roses." (Her feet are aimed toward and hidden by the smokestack and her face is just shy of the tip of Tiburon.)
