Summary

[edit]
Description
English: The Sultan's Palace (kraton) in Yogyakarta was originally built in 1756, and is still occupied by the current Sultan and his family. The public area of the palace is now given over to musical performances and other activities for visitors; a multi-use pavilion is seen here. The Chinese blue-and-white vases in the foreground are luxury items that have been exported from China to SE Asia since the Ming dynasty as a signifier of royalty.
