Description
Deutsch: Das Foto zeigt die Blüte einer Paradiesvogelblume (Strelitzia reginae) im Tropenhaus von Schloss Pillnitz. Ihren wissenschaftlichen Namen „Strelitzia reginae” erhielt die Pflanze 1733 zu Ehren der aus dem deutschen Herzogtum Mecklenburg-Strelitz stammenden britischen Königin Sophie Charlotte (1744 - 1818) von ihrem Erstbeschreiber William Aiton, dem damaligen Leiter des Königlichen Botanischen Gartens Kew bei London.
