Description
English: Street corner of "Rue Des Beaux-Arts" ("Street of Fine Arts") and "Rue J.-L.-Pourtalès" in the Swiss city of Neuchâtel. The latter is named after French-Genevan-Prussian banker and merchant Jacques-Louis de Pourtalès (1722-1814), who made a huge fortune largely from the slave trade in the Caribbean.
Français : Coin de la "Rue Des Beaux-Arts" et de la "Rue J.-L.-Pourtalès" à Neuchâtel en Suisse. Ce dernier porte le nom du banquier et marchand franco-genevois-prussien Jacques-Louis de Pourtalès (1722-1814), qui a fait une énorme fortune en grande partie grâce à la traite des esclaves dans les Caraïbes.
Deutsch: Straßenecke zwischen der "Rue Des Beaux-Arts" und der "Rue J.-L.-Pourtalès" in Neuenburg, Schweiz. Letztere ist benannt nach dem in Genf geborenen Bankier und Kaufmann Jacques-Louis de Pourtalès (1722-1814), der sein riesiges Vermögen zu einem großen Teil dem Sklavenhandel in der Karibik verdankte.
