DescriptionStratford station 360 - August 2008.jpg |
A 360° panoramic image of the low level part of Statford station in London. The photos were taken from the walkway from the adjacent high-level station (which can be seen through the windows in the middle of the image). This image is composed of 11 individual photographs that I took myself on 16 August 2008 from almost exactly the same place that I took the images for Image:Stratford station 13.jpg on 24 October 2005. Differences to note include the new Docklands Light Railway platforms have been constructed (see the left of the image), the additional westbound Central Line platform is being built (through the window in the left-centre of the image) and the "Platform for Art" exhibition on the walkway. The train in the low-level platform is a North London Line service operated by London Overground and is about to commence its journey to Richmond. In the 2005 image this platform was an intermediate westbound stop on the Silverlink-operated North Woolwich to Richmond North London Line. From 2009 the North London Line will move to new platforms on the far side of the high level station, and the low level platforms will then be converted to form the penultimate stop on the new Canning Town to Stratford International branch of the Docklands Light Railway. . The individual photographs that make up this merged image will be uploaded to Commons in the next couple of days, and linked from here. |
