English: Stowe's Pound hilltop enclosure. The summit of Stowe's Hill is surrounded by this loose stone rampart, which is thought to be a neolithic hilltop enclosure. There is plenty of this building material on the granite outcrop - in recent times the southern side of the summit has been extensively quarried. This view looks across the Tamar Valley towards Dartmoor. |
