Summary

[edit]
Description
English: The short platform at Stourbridge Town shown on a sunny morning on the 10th March 2007. The platform is just long enough to hold the Class 153 single car DMU which serves the branch line that Stourbridge Town is at the end of. This is the shortest branch line in Britain and runs for just 0.8 miles. It is built on a steep gradient and the picture shows the area behind the buffers which contains an extra section of rail to stop the train safely in case of a brake failure, which occurred twice during the 153's introduction at the turn of the 1990s.
