Summary
[edit]| Description |
English: Storage hangar This B1 type hangar is one of three built in 1941-2, and forming part of RAF Newmarket Heath. The airfield was active between 1939 and 1945, and was closed soon after the end of the war. Two hangars were the only substantial parts of the airfield to remain, they were used by a local firm for paper storage, and are currently used for furniture storage/distribution. A new warehouse was erected in place of the southern hangar (not shown) when it was destroyed by fire in 1997. |
