Description
English: Stone rods. Left : provenance unknown. Jomon period, 3000-2000 BC. Right : from Hirabayashi, Fujikawa-cho, Yamanashi. Jomon period, 3000-2000 BC. (This type of rod - or phallique stone / mâle sexual organ image - are often placed inside pit dwellings during the Middle Jomon Period, at the rear part of a dwelling or near the hearth : Koji MIZOGUCHI, 2013, p. 108-109). Tokyo National Museum.
