| Description |
English: Stockton Wood near Stockton This path into Stockton Wood leads off the permissive byway that runs along the eastern edge of the wood, about 300m north of the A303 trunk road. The wood is a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI). The wood also includes evidence of Grim's Ditch, an Iron Age earthwork; a Romano-British settlement; and the Roman road from the Mendips to Old Sarum. |
