English: Bathing at the Winton bore pool, 1947
The bore pool at Winton where all the dry season bathing is done. Water at 280 Fahrenheit is piped through the pool to cool it before pumping it to the town. The water is smelly and has soda in it, but is very good for tea. (Description supplied with photograph). |
