Description
English: Monument to James Stanhope, 1st Earl Stanhope, in Westminster Abbey, London. Located on the south side of the choir screen, the memorial shows Stanhope in Roman armour on a sarcophagus attended by a putto holding his coat of arms below a statue of Minerva with lower panels relating to his military victories. Dating from 1733, the monument is by William Kent and JM Rysbrack
