Description

Stamp of the United Arab Emirates - Emirate Fujeirah; 1972; commemorative stamp of the issue "Nude paintings"; As stamp motive is showing a reproduction of the painting "Tahitians at the Beach" (original French title: "Tahitiennes sur la plage") by Paul Gaugin (1843-1903). Gaugin created this painting in 1892 (not 1891(!) - the wide most famous painting was created in 1901) in the style of the post-impressionism (Cloisonnism) and is contemporary located in the "Metropolitan Museum of Arts", New York City (USA) and there in the department "Genre Arts"; This stamp is one of the so-called "Dunes-Issues"; stamp postmarked by CTO
