Stamp of Romania; 1971; commemorative stamp of the issue "Frescos from the Northern Moldovan monasteries"; The stamp motive shows a painting of "Christ before Herod".; Meant is Herodus (73 BC - 4 AD), Jewish King of Jerusalem by Grace of Rome.; Fresco painting from the "Moldovita monastery" (Romanian: "Mănăstirea Moldovița", at the community "Vatra Moldoviței", district of Suceava, North Moldova, here in the church "Annunciation of Our Lady"); This fortified convent is a pure women-monastery of the Romanian Orthodox Church. The convent was founded in 1532 by Petru Razes, then Woiwode of the Principality of Moldovia.; stamp postmarked by CTO
