Description

Stamp of the United Arab Emirates - Emirate Fujeira; 1970: commemorative stamp of the issue "Nude paintings by Renoir"; meant is the French painter and master of the impressionism "Pierre-Auguste Renoir" (1841-1919); Depicted is his painting "Sitting girl" from 1883 (French original title: "Femme nue dans un paysage", German title: "Badende, sich den Fuß abtrocknend"). This painting was created in 1883 in the style of the Post-Impressionism (other catalog: Moderne) during an Italy-travel of the artist and is contemporary (since 1977) located in the "Collection of Jean and Walter-Paul Guillaume" at the "Musée de l'Orangierie à Paris"; (Meant is the Orangery in the Tuileries); before this painting was possession of the Louvre.; Depicted is the young Miss Suzanne Valadon (1865-1938), which get later to a famous (female) painter of the "Moderne" in France.; hair style of the depicted woman: Chignon; location according to an other catalogue = "Musée d'Orsay", Paris (however not to find in the inventar-lists of this museum) or in private possession (real until 1963, but then sold).; This stamp is one of the so-called "Dunes-issues".; stamp postmarked by CTO
