Summary

[edit]
Description Collecting spores of the stem rust fungus at various altitudes, locations and times over the Great Plains of North America. Microscope slides, lightly coated with clear grease were exposed to the air, sent to Minnesota and the spores counted using light microscopy. This is how the aerobiology of the fungus was determined and the "Puccinia Pathway" discovered. Photo Courtesy of Dr. Howard Bissonette, Professor Emeritus, Department of Plant Pathology, Minnesota.
