Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Early May 2008 and the street mattresses were out in all their colourful glory.

Although some Haringey councillors were preoccupied by a more pressing issue. Which prestigious and handsomely-remunerated post would they hold In the coming Municipal year?

In 2008, making this a very, very special occasion I even got two pages from Brian Haley, at the time one of my Labour Party colleagues. For some reason (faulty capslock?) Brian typed it entirely in uppercase.

(This was, of course, long before Mr Haley decided to switch to the Haringey Liberal Democrats - having also had talks with Haringey Tories.)

But, back in Spring 2008, sumer was icumen in . . . "darling buds of May" . . . "hey nonny nonny" etc. etc. And Mr Haley was explaining why he was still the best choice as Labour's "cabinet" member for Environment and Conservation for yet another glittering and successful year.

This included the helpful information that he had: "become something of an expert in this field and regularly spoke at national and international conferences on waste and recycling". Mr Haley added that he had: "visited other countries on a governmental level to advise on their environmental options and hosted many delegates from European countries to demonstrate how we do things in the UK in terms of waste and recycling".

¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ Willkommen, bienvenue, welcome, distinguished Eurocrats from Ruritania and Freedonia. Here in Kimberley Gardens, London N4, this is what we do "in terms of" three mattresses and two bed bases.

We dump 'em in the road..

Ce photo était pris à Kimberley Gardens, London N4, pour vous montrer les recyclages de 3 matalas et 2 sommiers. Nous les dechargeons dans la rue!

(Merci beaucoup, Claire.)
