Summary
[edit]DescriptionStaatliche Apotheke 009.jpg |
English: Chemist‘s Building in module construction design. In 1974 the District Health Care Board of the German Democratic Republic approved a new masonry building for the state owned pharmacy of Tharandt. The obligatory final consent of the Ministry of Health came too late, because the person responsible died, and a successor was not appointed. The allocated materials were given to other contenders. In the centrally-planned economy was little or no prospect of a renewed allocation of a masonry building. So the Health Care Board headed for a system construction, which was available without an allocation. The solution was a building in module construction design type “Dauban” named after the place of its production. In 1975 the socially owned construction and civil engineering enterprise VEB Hoch-und Tiefbau Pirna assembled the building with 32 room modules within three days. A chemist’s building of the same design from 1972 is still in use and in good shape in 7 Hartmannstrasse in Niesky, now called “Zinzendorf-Apotheke”. The pharmacy in Tharandt left the building in 1994 after its privatization for a conventional building in the immediate vicinity. The building and its asbestos fibre cement façade will be pulled down in spring 2018 and the site will be occupied by a new day care centre.
Deutsch: Apothekengebäude Tharandt, Systembau in Raumzellenbauweise. |
