English: St Woolos Cathedral lychgate and tower The lychgate has two inscriptions.
On the left "TO THE GLORY OF GOD THIS LYCHGATE AND WESTERN APPROACH WERE DEDICATED TO THE MEMORY OF DAVID HENRY GRIFFITHS M.A. ARCHDEACON OF MONMOUTH, VICAR OF ST WOOLOS A.D. 1908-1926". On the right "BLESSED IS THE MAN WHOM THOU CHOOSEST AND RECEIVEST UNTO THEE: HE SHALL DWELL IN THY COURTS AND SHALL BE SATISFIED WITH THE PLEASURES OF THY HOUSE". |
