Summary
[edit]DescriptionSt Wilfrids procession Ripon 3 August 2024 (95).JPG |
The annual St Wilfrid's Procession in Ripon, North Yorkshire, England. This carnival procession commemorates Wilfrid, a medieval abbot of Ripon Monastery, and Archbishop of Canterbury. It is led by a band and a costumed St Wilfrid actor on a horse, and the remainder is a series of floats with light-hearted themes, raising money for local charities. This photo was taken in the area in front of the west door of Ripon Cathedral, where people came out of the cathedral, and dismounted from the floats, to intermingle and quietly greet each other. Showing the empty Lego float, waiting to be towed away by the tractor and dismantled. |
