Summary
[edit]DescriptionSt Josephs Wood - geograph.org.uk - 431379.jpg |
English: St Josephs Wood. Eleven thousand trees were planted in this area to the east of Freeholders Wood in 1999. Just over 7 years later, the scheme looks highly successful with a very high percentage of tree survival, despite hundreds of resident rabbits. The tree guards appear to have worked, although there is some bark damage higher up due to roe deer. This area was previously known as 'Riddings', which indicates that ancient tree cover was once removed. |
