Summary
[edit]DescriptionSt Germans Quay and Viaduct - geograph.org.uk - 717331.jpg |
English: St Germans Quay and Viaduct. View upstream from St Germans quayside. The quay was busy in the 19th century with cargoes of minerals, coal, timber and limestone. Road stone was transported from here until the mid-20th century. The railway viaduct over the River Tiddy carries the main line from Plymouth to Penzance and dominates the village. It was built in 1908 to replace the earlier Brunel wooden viaduct. |
