Description The spiral staircase is attached to the inside walls of the tower. This is looking up the light tower from below. The white section on the right is the bottom of one of the landings. The landings are actually quite large. Note the ring attached to the left side of the landing. Each landing has a ring like that. The cables for the counterweights on the clockworks mechanism would have passed through those rings. The clockworks was removed when the light was electrified, so the weights and cables are long gone.
