Description
English: Funerary stele of a gladiator. Thessaloniki. Marble. 2nd half of the 2nd century AD or early 3rd century. The text is : Euphrates, I came as a child. I still had my childish curls. Six times victorious, I glorified my homeland.
Français : Stèle funéraire d'un gladiateur. Thessalonique. Marbre. 2nde moitié du IIe siècle ap. J.-C. ou début du IIIe siècle. Le texte dit : Euphrates, enfant, je suis venu. J'avais encore mes boucles enfantines. Six fois vainqueur, j'ai glorifié ma patrie.
